Xiaomi was pegged to announce its most affordable Redmi Android device later this month but typifying their exuberance these days, the phone made its appearance much earlier than expected. It's called the Redmi 2A Android and priced at $97 this is the most affordable product coming out from their stable. Here's what you might want to know how does Redmi 2A stand in front of Redmi 2?

There is not much to differentiate between phones in terms of hardware and the only possible thing highlight here is the difference in chipset that Xiaomi has adopted for the Redmi 2A. For the first time, the brand has switched to non-Qualcomm, non-Mediatek and its known as Leadcore, owned by Xiaomi itself.

We're not sure as to how much of a difference does that (Leadcore) bring to the table from performance point of view (we'll know that soon). It is too early to talk about the value factor but in all likelihood, Redmi 2A might end up being another budget winner from the Redmi folks of China.
