Vodafone 4G services to roll out in India by second half of 2015

A few selected cities in the country will get Vodafone 4G services by the second half of this year, reports Business Today. The company will be rolling out 4G in five cities, where it won 5MHz spectrum in 1800 MHz band, including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Karnataka and Kerala.

Besides, the company has also planned to expand its services in the North East. “We are conducting 4G trials and plan to roll out the 4G services in a few towns later this year,” said Vodafone’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Sunil Sood.

Regarding net neutrality, Vodafone claims it to be complete net neutrality supporter, but demands equal treatment for all services. “We are pro-Net Neutrality and would like to see the same rule for the same services. There is a need to create a level playing field,” Sood said. “Let the government decide the rules of the game but we are open to a healthy debate on the issue, he added.

Vodafone recently announced its annual result, where it witnessed a growth rate of 12.6 percent. Most of its revenue were driven by 3G where the company showed 175 percent growth, when compared to the previous year.
