The update will bring a host of latest features and enhancements to the Android Wear platform. Some of such improvements are, better launcher with wrist gesture support, functionality to draw Emojis, heads-up notifications, screen lock, and ability to change font size.
Another premium feature that debuts with the Android 5.1.1 update is Wi-Fi support. Although, it will only be compatible on the Sony Smartwatch 3, Moto 360, LG Watch Urbane, and Samsung Gear Live. One of the basic pre-requisite for the update is the latest version of the Android Wear smartphone application. The update will hit the devices gradually in a matter of days or weeks.
