Xiaomi Mi 5 might feature a 5.5-inch QHD screen and Snapdragon 820 processor
Xiaomi has not launched its Mi Note and Mi Note Pro devices in India, but they have already started working on the successor to the Mi 4.
According to a new report, the next Xiaomi flagship smartphone might
feature a 5.5-inch QHD display, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor.
It remains to be seen as to how the company places the Mi 5 among its
Mi Note and Mi Note Pro phablets as all of them feature a 5.5-inch QHD
display.
The device might also be equipped with 4GB of RAM, and 16/64GB of internal storage space, just like the Mi 4. When it comes to the imaging department, there are rumours that it might use a 16-megapixel camera sensor with OIS, and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. There is a chance that it might also feature a USB Type-C connector – a variant of micro-USB port that is reversible – but we are not too sure about that.
The Snapdragon 820
SoC (System on a chip) brings back custom CPU cores that Qualcomm is
generally known and praised for. The new custom CPU cores are named as
Kryo, and are considered to be successor of the last-generation Krait
cores. The new chipset also brings support for Sense ID – a new type of
fingerprint sensor that relies on ultrasonic waves rather than an
optical system – that is claimed to be more accurate in recognising
fingerprints even with the presence of dirt or water.
