After Vodafone, Airtel new pack offering 1GB 3G data at Rs 95

Airtel has now started offering 1 GB 3G data at only Rs 95 for its prepaid customers across many circles. This new data pack is targeted for data hungry customers as it comes with 1 GB 3G data for two days of validity. As of now, this new pack is the lowest priced 1 GB data 3G pack from Airtel.

Few days back, telecom operator Vodafone had also introduced similar kind of pack at Rs 99 which offers 1 GB of 3G/4G data for only 1 days. While the new pack from Airtel would offer better value to customers as it offers more validity. Also, Airtel customers enrolled in ‘Data Cashback’ can avail 50 % extra data on night usage.

Keeping in mind the huge data growth, companies are rapidly expanding their data products. The Mittal-promoted telecom operator had 58.2 million data customers (23.2% of total customers) as on March 31, 2016.
The company has also witnessed an increase on average data usage per customer of 36.3% to 801 MBs per month as compared to 587 MBs in the previous year. Data ARPU increased by 21.4% to Rs 194 during the year from Rs 160 in the previous year , shared the company.
On the other hand , where telecom operators are cutting down freebies and stopped offering ‘Double Data’ on recharges and retailing 1 GB high speed data at an average of RS 250 – 275 ; this kind of pack at Rs 95 will help the heavy data customers to enjoy data at cheapest rates.

However, recharging the pack would not carry forward your current data and will show as another data pack in data account which means one would not be able to use the pack to pool their current data limits in existing packs.
