Migration process Start to upgrade Reliance 4G

So today is 4th May, the official launch date of Rcom 4G services in the 9 circles which are in the phase 1 of the 4G roll out process. For those who have been living under a rock, a quick summary of the upgrade story so far.. Rcom which is shutting down its CDMA services to free up spectrum in 850MHz band for 4G LTE operations has declared that it will be migrating its 50 lac CDMA subscribers to the 4G network ahead of its full fledged commercial launch.

 
The initial upgrade process is being carried out in the metro circles of Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata along with ‘A’ category circles of Maharashtra, Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh and ‘B’ category circles of UP East, UP West and Madhya Pradesh. Rcom has updated on its website the detailed process for going about with the upgrade.

For CDMA mobile subscribers:

 

Prepaid mobile subscribers in the 9 circles need to recharge with the 4G upgrade voucher of denomination mentioned in the chart above, the value varies from Rs.75 to Rs.97  as per the circle. subscribers need to get a blank 4G sim from their nearest reliance store. Prepaid subscribers after this recharge and postpaid subscribers need to send an SMS with the text 4G ‘space’ 19 digit sim card number and send it to 1299. Subscribers would enjoy 1 GB EvDO data pre upgrade and 1 GB 3G data (also usable on 2G data in areas without 3G coverage) and 10 GB LTE data post upgrade. subscribers would also get 1 month of free reliance to reliance local and STD calls.

For EvDO data card subscribers:

 

Prepaid data card subscribers in the 9 circles need to recharge with the 4G upgrade voucher of denomination mentioned in the chart above, the value varies from Rs.75 to Rs.97  as per the circle. subscribers need to get a blank 4G sim from their nearest reliance store. Prepaid subscribers after this recharge and postpaid subscribers need to head over to the reliance netconnect website and click on the upgrade to 4G option and enter the MDN of the data card along with the 19 digit sim number and email id along with the alternate mobile number to receive the OTP. Upon successful submission of the details the upgrade request is accepted and the subscriber can now place an order for the new wi-pod on the reliance shop website and have it home delivered. Subscribers would enjoy 5 GB of EvDO data pre upgrade (also usable as 1x in areas with no EvDO coverage) and also get an additional 10 GB of LTE data post upgrade with a 30 days validity.

Note:
Rcom will notify the subscribers through SMS about the upgrade of the sim approximately 48 hours before the upgrade process.
